Fill out the form and hit Install WordPress. When your local host URL, you should see a screen such as the one below where you will enter your main info for your WordPress installation. You can either use the MAMP GUI (as in the guide to setting up MAMP) or go to Applications/MAMP/conf/apache/nf and set your Ports for Apache and MySQL to 80/3306. Step 3: Complete The WordPress Installation.If you upload your local site files to the MAMP htdocs directory you will also want to copy this one from _OLD to new. Use this to replace the db directory in the new installation of MAMP. You can choose between the default version of PHP 7.4.21 or any version from 5.4.45 to 8.08. Right click on it, then click set PHP version to. In MAMP go to your 'Hosts' tab and click on the host you want to allow 'Go ahead and change the Owner and Group (the latter allows uploads) to 'www' and hit 'OK'. Next, select the host you want to change. To switch the version of PHP installed on your host, first navigate to the hosts section. When the installation has finished, go to your MAMP_OLD folder and copy the db directory. This will come in handy when it is time to update PHP for a WordPress site. ![]() Ignore this! Press Continue and you will be asked to verify with your password. You will be told not to remove or rename MAMP.
